Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Dr. Dhaliwal first completed her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Calgary. While volunteering at a local hospital and a women's health clinic, Dr. Dhaliwal gained an interest in medicine. As she became exposed to chronic health concerns in her own family and familiarized herself with the healthcare system, Dr. Dhaliwal noticed that root causes of diseases were rarely treated. Lifestyle changes and long term prevention goals were also not emphasized, which resulted in the relapse of symptoms.
After exploring differences between various streams of medicine and being introduced to a naturopathic doctor, Dr. Dhaliwal resonated with, and pursued naturopathic medicine. Following four years of rigorous academic learning and clinical training, she obtained her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine (now the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine), Canada's only accredited naturopathic medical school. During her clinical training, Dr. Dhaliwal also completed a rotation at Positive Living BC in Vancouver, where she formulated naturopathic treatment protocols for individuals with HIV/AIDS. She is a member in good standing with The College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta, The Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and The Alberta Association of Naturopathic Doctors.

Naturopathic medicine is holistic or whole health view of your wellness and health. The doctors will work with you to identify and address the underlying causes of the symptoms and help you heal and feel better. They can help your body to optimal functioning through certain personalized care plans that address exercise, nutrition, movement, and mindfulness. The naturopathic doctors also support you through chronic conditions, stress management, and work-life balance.
The naturopathic doctors will first try to find out the root cause of the symptoms and then will look beyond the surface to find out the reasons behind them. You get some of the most integrative treatments that you can work with conventional medicines and also other alternative health practitioners to provide the best-customized health care to restore your vitality and health.
You can find herbal medicines everywhere. In the earlier days, people used to plant herbal fruits and plants in their backyards, which made it easier for them to access medicine when minor diseases had to be treated.
